Not Quite a New Year

Hi folks,

So we're about to start another new year, eh? I'm busy spending my New Year's Eve in the ER (been here since 11am) getting tested for everything under the sun. Right now, we're leaning toward appendicitis. However, blogging from the ER? TOTALLY AWESOME! As it turns out, since I am an alum of the university that this hospital is connected to, I retain my old username and password and still (6 years later) have access to wifi. It's completely sweet!

So, the holidays are over and that means I can finally show you what I was working on for the past three months:

O.M.G. The socks.

I actually had this many more left to do at the time of that pic:

Baby hats thrown in for good measure

And folks? I am NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN. Ever. Not even if the Pope AND Jesus AND the Dalai Lama AND Ghandi asked me. It's just never gonna happen. I love each and every person that I made custom footwear for, but shit man, I'm not sure if I love them all *this* much.

And now, with that, I will leave you to your merriment. I am due for another CT scan in about 5 minutes (or another half hour, god knows the ER is slow as molasses). I will certainly let y'all know how this turns out.

Happy New Year!

'Tis the Season

Hey folks,

I am knitting like a madwoman over here and am beginning to realize that maybe, just maybe I might have overscheduled my knitting time. I fear that I am going to be presenting gifts to people this year with the needles still attached, is what I'm sayin'. Le sigh, as Pepe Le Pew so eloquently once stated. I swear on a stack of Bibles and Korans and Torahs that I will post more regularly once I finish this holiday season. And when I don't, please feel free to kick my virtual or physical ass (it's a much better target in person, trust me).

So, in the spirit of the holidays, I want to call your attention to our Lady of the Yarn Harlot. She is raising the bar and I invite you all to help me reach it. It is the least we can do!

A Million Lifetimes

Hey folks,

Just a quick check-in before I slide back in to TVland (does anyone remember Nickelodeon having TV land after 7pm? I used to hate that). Work is going well; I am trying my best to take it all in. And that's pretty much the extent that I will ever talk about work here.

Today Jon and I suffered a loss. Leslie Harpold passed away late last week. Though I only met her once, at our wedding in 2003, she will be missed. She was an awesome writer and an equally awesome presence. I wish I had gotten to know her better while I had the chance.

And with that, my loves, I leave you. I'll let you know as soon as I have some public-ready knitting to show you.
