Like, totally ohmigod

Hi folks,

Can I just tell you how Totally. Over. School. I am? I hate it with the passion of a thousand brilliant suns. I only have 5 weeks to go and that seems like an everloving eternity right now. I dunno, maybe it's that I have some much more important things on my mind right now. Like, oh, pushing a child out of my body in four months and change. Or the fact that I have a job, that I love, but that I have to make a case for me being the full-time person in it forever and ever over the next two weeks. Or that THERE ARE BABY SHOWERS TO ORCHESTRATE, PEOPLE! There are so many things on my mind that take precedent over school right now that school feels like your friend's annoying little brother who won't stop sliding Matchbox cars under her door while you two are busy discussing the respective merits of Brad Pitt versus Leonardo DiCaprio as your dream boyfriend with each other. For the love of god, little brother/school, leave me alone!

In other news, for those of you who havent been studiously keeping up with my Flickr photos; we're having a boy! With tiny little boy bits and everything! I was totally convinced that we would be having a girl, but I have to say: I am completely relieved that we're starting off with a boy. And from the lengthy ultrasound we had last Friday I can safely say without a hint of motherly pride or delusion that he is the most perfect 21-week fetus that has ever been created. Here is his precious little face:

Here you're looking at his profile (he's facing left) and he's scratching his forehead.

So I guess I should get to the knitting, eh? Turns out, I have been knitting. I started my fifth baby bunny jacket. The other four were for last year's babies, all born to fabulous women who had darling little sons of their own. Finally, it's my turn and my little boy will be clad in a color scheme that will make him look very much like the Velveteen Rabbit. I can't wait to finish it and show you all.

I haven't stopped trying to figure out the Baby Surprise Jacket in pink and green, but it will be destined for gifting instead of for the little person currently engaged in pummeling me every chance he gets. (Yes, I know it will only get much much worse!)

Work on my Apricot Jacket has been temporarily displaced by the Baby Bunny Jacket, but I am in desperate need for a lighter cardigan, so I'm going to need to finish it very soon!

With that, ladies and gents, Sparticus sez:

Peace out!
